Spring Storms Colorado Style: Accepted in My First Art Show Exhibition!

Spring Storms Colorado Style

Spring Storms Colorado Style

I got the exciting news Friday that Spring Storms Colorado Style has been accepted into the upcoming Boulder Digital Arts “Creative Digital Photography” Art Show!

Please join me for the opening of my first ever Art Show exhibition. Opening Night Reception is Friday, June 1 from 4 – 6 pm. BDA Arapahoe Studio: 1600 Range Street on the northeast corner of Range and Arapahoe in Boulder (a bit west of 55th Street heading west towards Foothills). If you can’t make Opening Night, the show will run all summer so you’ll have plenty of chances to see the show. But I do hope you’ll join me for the opening. It’s my first exhibition and I’m excited!

Here’s the BTS (behind the scenes) on this photograph: This  black and white landscape was taken at Davidson Mesa Open Space in Louisville, CO in May 2011. It was digitally created by merging three exposures into a tone-mapped High Dynamic Range (HDR) image using Photomatix Pro, then further post processed in Lightroom and Photoshop CS5. Nik Software’s Silver Efex Pro2 was used for the black and white conversion, fine art effect and other final finishing touches.

The submission in the BDA art show is a stunning 30 x 20 inch print on True Black and White paper. I have custom framed it with a hand signed white window mat and a black flat wood frame. The finished framed size is 39 x 29 inches. It looks amazing to see my work enlarged to a size that does it such beautiful justice!

Spring Storms Colorado Style is for sale during the Art Show. If it sells, for certain I will have to immediately make another for myself, as it is one of my favorite photographs I’ve ever taken!
